1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They are used to remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you use a site. Cookies are a standard web technology — virtually every website you use employs them in some form.
Under EU law (ePrivacy Directive and GDPR), websites that use non-essential cookies must obtain your consent before setting them. GeoLens uses only a minimal number of cookies, described below.
2. Cookies GeoLens Uses
GeoLens uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage, listed below. Advertising measurement cookies are set only with your consent.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
geolens_report_session | Maintains your active session on the report page. Ensures you remain on the page while your audit is loading. No personal data is stored — only a session token. | Session | Session only (deleted when browser closes) |
geolens_cookie_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or declined measurement cookies, so the consent banner is not shown again. Stored in your browser's local storage. | Preference | Persistent (until you clear your browser data) |
_fbp / _fbc | Set by the Meta (Facebook) pixel — only after you click Accept in the consent banner. Used to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns. | Third-party (Meta) | Up to 90 days |
The session and consent entries are first-party — set by GeoLens itself. The only third-party tracking technology GeoLens uses is the Meta (Facebook) pixel, which measures how our advertising performs. It is loaded only after you explicitly accept via the consent banner; if you decline (or make no choice), no Meta code runs and no Meta cookies are set. GeoLens does not use Google Analytics or any other tracking pixel.
3. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
When you first visit GeoLens, a banner asks whether you accept measurement cookies. Your choice is remembered, and the banner is not shown again. Declining does not limit the site in any way — audits, reports, and purchases work exactly the same.
To change a choice you already made, clear this site's data in your browser settings (cookies and site data for the GeoLens domain) — the banner will appear again on your next visit. You can also:
- Enable private/incognito mode in your browser — cookies set during private browsing are deleted when you close the private window.
- Use browser extensions that block all cookies — note that this may cause some websites to function incorrectly.
- Configure your browser to block all third-party cookies.
4. Third-Party Cookies
With your consent, GeoLens uses the Meta pixel, operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. It may set the _fbp and _fbc cookies to measure our advertising campaigns. These cookies are never set before you click Accept in the consent banner. How Meta processes this data is described in Meta's cookie policy.
The other external services GeoLens uses are Stripe (for payments) and AI analysis providers. Neither of these services sets cookies on your GeoLens session through our domain. When you are redirected to Stripe's checkout page, Stripe may set its own cookies — these are governed by Stripe's own cookie and privacy policies, not by this document.
We will update this policy if we introduce any other third-party services that set cookies on our domain.
5. Policy Updates
If GeoLens changes its cookie usage, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and revise this policy accordingly. Check back periodically, especially before making a purchase.
